Hi everyone, sorry its been a long time since my last post I've been swamped with revision for my GCSEs *insert crying emoji*. But the good news is I'm half way through now! And my prom is coming up very soon. I have my dress and I absolutely love it.
The problem I have is makeup, I have absolutely no idea what makeup look to do that will go nicely with my dress. I have tried blue and silver but that did not turn out great...lets just say I looked like a five year old who'd stolen their mums make up.
Anyway, this leads me to why I need your help. If you know or see a makeup look that will go with my dress please put a link in the comments and I will look at them and decide which one is best. I will be sure to post about prom and include the make up and maybe even a tutorial!
Thanks for your help,
Grace

The Simple Smokey Eye Recipe.
What you need:
Maybelline colour tattoo (or any cream eye shadow) in any dark shade. (I'm using 'On and on bronze')
a matte black eye shadow (any will do)
a black pencil eyeliner (again, use what you have)
mascara
Maybelline Colour Tattoos Shades from left to right: Eternal Gold, On and On Bronze, Metallic Pomegranate |
1. First of all sweep the cream eye shadow all over the lid up to the crease, but not in the crease.
2. Then take a clean fluffy brush and blend out the edges.
3. Taking some of the black shadow on another fluffy brush, push the shadow into the outer corner of the eye and gently blend it into the crease (but mostly concentrating on the outer corner)
4. Then place some cream eyeshadow on the bottom lashline and blend it out with the first brush. for this step you can use as much or as little as you want.
5. Next line your upper and lower water line with the black eyeline and smudge the bottom liner (if you want to).
6. Finally add a few generous coats of mascara and you're done!
The final product of this quick and easy smokey eye is very impressive considering it takes tiny amount of time and effort!

The Ink story.
It all started when I, being the amazing student I am, hadn't done my maths homework and was on the floor in my room at 7:45 copying someone else's homework. Once I had finished my homework I put the pen I was using in the pocket of my army trousers, thinking nothing of it and went about my day. Once it was finally time for break, I dragged my best friend to toilet with me. As I undid my trouser puzzler, or belt buckle as you might call it, and pulled down my trousers, I discovered a huge black mark on my leg. Puzzled as to what this could possibly be, I felt the mark and found it was a thick, sticky substance. realising what had happened I cautiously reached into my pocket to find the exploded pen with ink pouring out of it. Panicked and a bit freaked out, I of course forgot my need to wee and ran out of the cubicle, trousers round my ankles, and stood in front of my friend as she hysterically laughed whilst repeatedly asking, 'what the f**k is that!?'.
Once she had calmed down we tried to think of ways we could get the ink off of my leg, we tried everything from tissue to water to soap to all three at once! but it was not budging! Now, normally I would've just pulled up my trousers and forgotten about it until I got home, but of course that night I was going to a party and I couldn't go looking like id been physically abused! so we went to ask a chemistry teacher who told us to use nail varnish remover, but that was going to take forever and id of had to wait until we got to my friends house. On the way back from the chemistry block I had a sudden epiphany of something I had seen on twitter a while ago (good old twitter!), which was that hand gel, or antibacterial gel, gets rid of almost anything. So off we went to the toilets, ignoring the stares and glares of disapproval from the girls in other years, and got out the hand gel, slapped it all over my leg and started wiping it away...believe it or not.. IT WORKED! I was so happy I could barely the feel the agonising stings as the hand gel seeped into my shaving cuts on my leg.
In hind sight the moral of story probably should be that pens shouldn't live in pockets, but being the 15 year old girl the moral of the story has to be that you should always, always carry hand gel wherever you go because you never know when you might need it!!

Drugstore Make-up Favourites
As a 15 year old girl I have to admit that I have spent my fair share of time and money on drugstore make-up! Now that my collection has grown to a reasonable size I feel eligible to tell you about some amazing drugstore finds and maybe even a few dupes!
The first of my favourites is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, mine is in the shade fair. This is my favourite concealer of all time because it gives great coverage and can be used both under the eyes and on blemishes. This concealer blends extremely well into the skin (especially using the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge) and does not crease on me. I would recommend getting this in a shade that is a few shades lighter that your normal skin tone as it helps to highlight under the eyes and around the face, however if you using it on blemishes get the shade closest to your skin tone.
My next drugstore favourite is of course a mascara, who can resist the temptation of a drugstore mascara! Although I have a million drugstore mascaras I have one favourite out of them all...this mascara is my holy grail product and I could not live without it. When I first bought it I was so impressed I sent a picture of my lashes to my friends and made them go and buy it! this is of course Maybelline The Rocket Mascara in the waterproof formula. This mascara makes my lashes so long and voluminous and holds the curl all day, if you have particularly stubborn lashes this would be perfect for you!
This next product is not a frequently mentioned product, however I have not found a better drugstore foundation for my skin type (dry/sometimes combination). It is the Bourjoir Happy Light foundation, the formula is relatively thin and it gives a medium/light coverage. It is a dewy foundation however it does not look greasy on the skin and has amazing staying power! And if you didn't think this could get any better, this foundation is an amazing dupe for the Channel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation!
A girl can't live without eyeliner right? Well I have you sorted in this department! the best drugstore eyeliner have ever found is the Maybelline Master Drama Khol Liner in black. this eyeliner glides on like a dream and is extremely black. I have very watery eyes and this eyeliner barely moves on me. I highly recommend this if you are on the hunt for a good drugstore eyeliner.
In my opinion, the best cream eye shadows come from the drugstore (at least the best ones I have found). 'What are these amazing eye shadows?!' You ask, well...these eye shadows have had amazing reviews all over the beauty industry and are still going strong, these are Maybelline Colour Tattoos. the formula of them is so creamy and the product distributes evenly on the lids, they are a breeze to blend and can be worn alone or as a base for other eye shadows. My personal favourite shades are On And On Bronze and Pomegranate Passion, they are extremely versatile and will look good on any skin tone. a must for beginners.
My last favourite is a brow product and it is the Soap & Glory Brow Archery. this is a brilliant product for naturally filling in your brows, the felt tip end allows you to fix any sparse areas and the twist-up pencil side helps to define the shape of your brows. Soap & Glory has now launched a new innovation of the brow archery which is an exact dupe for the Anastasia Brow wiz! I have yet to try this but I'm sure its just as good if not better.
There are a large range of products that you can find at the drugstore and I'm sure I will find new favourites in the near future, but for now these are them. If you have any favourites of your own feel free to let me know about them so I can try them myself!

Hi! I'm Grace...
Hi everyone...
My name is Grace Walker, this is my first blog post and so I thought I would tell you a bit about myself before anything else.
I am currently 15 years old, I turn 16 on December 30th! I was born in New Jersey, USA but raised in Essex, England. I started this blog because I enjoy trying out new products and experimenting with make-up, and I wanted to be able to share my passion with others (beside my close friends of course). The whole blogging thing is very new to me and I've only read a few posts, but I thought id try it out and see how it goes!
thanks for reading...
